Ways to connect with MN-ACS and your fellow chemists:

  • Do you get e-mail from MN-ACS? Would you like to be notified through our mailing list; or perhaps you prefer a different e-mail address from the one on file with ACS National?  We are now using the popular - and easy to manage - MailChimp.  Subscribe to our newsletter.

  • Join our MN-ACS Facebook Group to socially network with other area chemists and chat about past and future meetings.

  • Network with other local chemistry professionals through our MN-ACS LinkedIn Group.

  • Become an Affiliate Member of the Minnesota ACS Section! All members of the National ACS living in the area served by the MN Section are automatically affiliate members of the section. However, if you are not a National ACS member, but are interested in networking with chemists in the local section, become an affiliate member! Benefits of MN-ACS Affiliate membership include a subscription to The Minnesota Chemist newsletter and opportunities for participation in MN-ACS section activities.
Current membership cost is only $10.00 per calendar year. Annual renewal is necessary and reminders may not be sent. Your one-calendar-year membership will commence once payment is received. If you are interested, send a check made out to ‘MN-ACS’ to Mary Slinger, 19547 Roberds Lake Blvd., Faribault, MN 55021. Please include the following information: Name, complete address, e-mail address, phone number, and classification (i.e., graduate student/undergraduate/high school teacher/consultant/other).

Communications Update!
Do you know MNACS has a Facebook group? If you're a Facebook user, you can add yourself to the group to see our updates right on your news feed.
MNACS is slowly transitioning to the 21st century "social-media" Internet. Our old text-based LISTSERV is no longer running (the hamster powering that server died) and we are now moving to Facebook and Google Groups to replace that service.
  • If you want to be part of the Facebook group, just go to your Facebook account and in the Search box, look for American Chemical Society Minnesota Local Section (or "Like" us at left!)
  • There are two Google Groups set up. MNACS-Ex is the executive committee's group - primarily about business, meeting planning and minutes, etc. The other group, MNACS, is for more general topics.
  • The MNACS group is an open group: anyone can sign up for it. People who sign up can post messages, and you have the option of receiving messages in several formats: as they are posted; as a daily digest, or reading only when you visit the page. Visit the page to sign up. It has very little traffic now.
  • The MNACS-EX group is a closed group. If you are interested in receiving those messages, go to the group page and click "Request an invitation to join this group".
