Executive Board Committee Meeting 5-6

Meeting Items for this month include important Bylaws Revision vote. 
See below for details. 

 To all interested members of MN-ACS:

Bylaw updates were proposed at the recent meeting. A vote of adoption will be held at the November 18th meeting.

Please review, approve or comment on the following items:

1. (Proposed)The Executive Committee and the Board are the same and will be named the Executive Board Committee

2. (Proposed)The Secretary and or other Executive Board Committee designates shall be responsible for issuing written and electronic notices of all regular meetings...

3. (Proposed)The Membership Committee shall also be included within Article IV Section 2.

4. (Proposed)The Treasurer shall make an annual report for the preceding year to the Section upon the closure of the preceding year's accounting period, and special reports...

5. (Councilors to take note...)

6. (Proposed)Accept spelling change to "term"

7. (Proposed) Accept spelling change to "term"

8. (Proposed)The report of the Nominating Committee shall be included within the subsequent Section meeting minutes.

9. (?)At least two names shall be proposed representing the University of Minnesota(any campus), government or other non-profit institutions;... (how are we interpreting this 1 U of MN and either 1 Gov't or 1 Non-Profit or 2 U of MN and 2 Gov't or 2 Non-Profit, etc.?)

10. (?)Any incumbent candidates will be so designated on the ballot. (Are we currently following this process in noting this designation?)

11. All nominations from the floor shall be checked for eligibility and willingness to serve by the Secretary(Proposed Nominating Committee) before including the names on the ballot.

12. (?)The Secretary, in conjunction with the Chair and Treasurer of the Section, shall count ballots...

13. (Proposed)Remove comma

14. (?)...keep the operations manual up to date,... (Mithra is checking to see if she has the operations manual.  If anyone happens to know of this manual or has knowledge of it existing, please contact Mithra.  Thank you.)

15. (Proposed) Eliminate the hyphen between chemical-engineers

16. (Proposed) At or subsequent to the completion of the Chair's term, the Chair of each group...

17.(Proposed) Approximately eight regular meetings of the Section shall be held during the year. The day of week and time of day shall be at the discretion of the Program Committee and or the discretion of the officers. The Program Committee will make best efforts to provide continuity in targeting the same day of week and week of month for general membership planning purposes.

18.(Proposed)Accept spelling change to include a comma ...Section Website, of all...
