Parking is available in the ramp on the north side of Hennepin Ave. Meal reservation fee includes a $5.00 parking voucher for the ramp.

Biography: Dale A. Wahlstrom

CEO, The BioBusiness Alliance of MinnesotaTM

Dale recently retired from Medtronic after 24 years. Most recently he served as V.P. of CRDM Venture Programs. Prior to this he served as V.P. /G.M. of the CRDM Therapy Delivery business. Before Medtronic, he held management and sales positions at Litton Microwave and Burroughs Corporation and managed a clean technology start-up company.

Today, he serves as the CEO for The BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota (BBAM). BBAM is an industry led nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of bioscience based businesses in the state of Minnesota.

Dale received his M.S. in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of St. Thomas in 1994, and his B.S. in Engineering and Technology from St. Cloud State University in 1978.

He is currently a member of several industrial advisory and governors boards for different universities and companies. In 1988 he was a recipient of the Medtronic Star of Excellence Award, and in 1997 received the Wallin Leadership Award. In 2002 Dale was recognized as the outstanding graduate of the year by the engineering department of St. Cloud State University. In 2007 he was honored by Twin Cites Business Magazine and was the recipient of the Bioscience Success Story Award. He currently has ten patents in medical device technology with several more pending.

DIRECTIONS to MCTC Parking Ramp:
  1. Drive down Hennepin Avenue to MCTC campus located at 1501 Hennepin Avenue.
  2. (If you are driving from Interstate 94):
    1. Turn LEFT at Maple Street (also called 16th Street N). This intersection is near the Basilica.
    2. Proceed for 1 block.
    3. Turn RIGHT on Laurel Avenue.
    4. Proceed 11/2 blocks and turn RIGHT into parking ramp.
    - or -
  3. (If you are driving southwest on Hennepin Avenue from the downtown area):
    1. Turn RIGHT at Laurel Avenue (also called Spruce Place). Turn just prior to the campus.
    2. Proceed about 1/4 block.
    3. Turn LEFT into parking ramp.

    1. Once parked, take the parking ramp ELEVATOR to the SKYWAY level (3rd floor)
    2. Walk through skyway (over Hennepin Avenue).
    3. Continue to walk forward until you come to a very large ATRIUM area with large windows.
    4. Turn right and follow the overhead signage to the LIBRARY/WHITNEY HALL.
    5. Take ELEVATOR or STAIRS to 3rd floor.
    6. Go to room L-3000.
Notes:
  1. For directions to get to room L-3000 you can ask the security guard located in the skyway.
  2. If walking to the campus from street/sidewalk level, enter the Wheelock Whitney Hall directly. It is a tall 3-story building with distinctive glass and stainless steel features.
